Goose cinema

Goose Cinema started out as a manifesto that has bloomed into the production company it is today. Now it may only be two creative minds making film and art together BUT to us it's a life line and something we fall back on.

The manifesto is below.

Keep an eye on this page as we plan to release much more into the world.

  1. Does not need to make sense but make feelings.

  2. The only restriction is that the scene has to make sense emotionally rather than literally. Each cut and lighting cue doesn’t have to make sense from a realist point of view, it only has to make sense contextually based on feeling. (stab someone and the screen goes red then a building blows up is good but if stabbing happens and nothing follows not cool)

  3. Small crews are preferred (fewer people to argue with)

  4. Realism is for LOSERS. Surrealism is in this season.

  5. Capitalism is for tossers (This does not need to be overt, not making films about politics, but films with a political undertone)

  6. Lighting and colour is key but also black and white is allowed.

  7. Heterosexuality does not exist. Every character is LGBTQIA+ unless specified otherwise.

  8. Desire is Subjective. Nudity is not necessarily sexual. Hands are inherently sexual. Close-ups on hands are without a doubt phallic references.

  9. Hollywood is out of touch with the people. The people are also out of touch with the people. We are not appealing to the people, we are appealing to the Id. We exist to make films connecting to base emotions.

  10. Bill Mury is A Very Good Actor. This is less of a manifesto rule and more of a Note of Note. Actors who can do subtlety are appreciated. Particularly Anthony Hopkins and Maggie Smith. Understated acting in an over the top environment is a Good Contrast and is Appreciated

  11. There are only 10 rules.

  12. Individuality is a shared experience.
